50Mbs Pemberton Network upgrade

50Mbs Pemberton Network upgrade

Tuesday 14 August 2012
Pemberton 50Mbs upgrade at the Airfield will now service the new Pemberton Meadows and extended Airfield networks.

Using the latest developments in wireless communications technology, this new network delivers Internet to the Upper Pemberton Meadows Valley over a series of towers and wireless networks developed by Base Technology Ltd. This network provides high speed wireless Internet service to an estimated additional 100 residents, businesses, and farms over an area of approximately 50sq km who would normally have no access to highspeed Internet.

The rural broadband network in the Pemberton Meadows upgrade is complete with a 50Mbs fiber connection to the Internet backbone. The network now serves customers from Mt. Currie up to Geese Road in the Pemberton Valley.

50Mbs Pemberton Network upgrade

The upper Pemberton meadows network is now serviced with a new self powered communications site running off of solar power and extending service to residents at Geese road over 30km from the Pemberton Airfield fiber location.
